ABOUT MOI
⊹ ࣪ ﹏𓊝﹏𓂁﹏⊹ ࣪

Hi! I’m Diya Soni, a textile designer with love for textiles, illustration, and storytelling. I began my creative journey under the name ilyustrate, just me, my sketchbook, and a lot of curiosity. creating commissioned illustrations ranging from album covers and brand assets to personalized family portraits that found homes across the world.

I graduated in Textile Design from NIFT with a minor in Fashion Communication, so design for me has always been about more than just aesthetics it’s about emotion, narrative, and connecting people to culture and comfort through everyday objects.

Also welcome to my moo club, it's a little dream of building a creative, snail mail inspired community that sends out letter, stickers, zines, postcards, tiny poems, and art surprises to keep the magic of art and letter alive. Because I truly believe art isn’t just something you look at it’s something you live with, share, and hold in your hands.

My work blends traditional and digital processes drawing from a background in hand drawn illustration, embroidery, printing, and weaving to craft PRINTS and surfaces that bring warmth. Whether I’m developing a rug collection, surface embellishments, conceptual textile stories, illustrating, OR STORYTELLING, I approach each project with curiosity, detail, and a strong storytelling.

Beyond my practice, I’ve worked with design studios and brands to bring creative concepts to life, combining visual design, craft research, and hands on material work.

Alongside this, I’ve grown a community of over 75,000 on Instagram under the handle @ilyustrate. What began as a little corner to share my illustrations has gradually evolved into a visual diary, art, stitching experiments, bts glimpses, NIFT life moments, and even relatable fashion musings. From storytelling and styling to collaborative campaigns and experimental edits, I love creating content and even document that feels warm, expressive, and full of character like a peek into the creative chaos behind the work.

Let's Talk

I do my best to get back to everyone but due to volume of inquiries I prioritize responding to projects that I feel are a good fit!
